Sure is 3S up in here

For an organised NZHondas meet, this really had a high Toyota content to it. WIth four 3S powered T-machines turning up… the two Hondas were outnumbered. Consider there was also a pair of Nissans, and……. a Jag.

nuff bullshit, here’s a couple of pics at the meet point. After all this we headed out to Southwards car museum. Was siiiick as usual, hadn’t been there in years.

More pics from Bob Marley Birthday Cruise 06/02/2013

Here’s some more pics from our little cruise around town for Bob Marley’s birthday.

Here is Craigs sisters Toyota Starlet ‘carat’ sporting Advan SA3R’s and 3 blokes in the back to try and slam it out for a photo.

No, Craig isn’t pointing and laughing. There’s not much to point and laugh about with this car. It’s pretty serious business.

Iain’s classic EG Civic was out as usual. Iain is an integral member of the Bwarp crew, and a meet wouldn’t be the same without the white slut EG in attendance. Sadly the little Civic ran into some mechanical troubles part way round the bays, so we left it there….

A front on shot of the Carat. interesting combination of vehicle + wheels. It’s certainly not huge in the performance stakes, but with a bit of a drop, it could be a nice wee summer cruiser for a female and her friends. (Sorry Craig, you are far better suited to the GT-Four)

Sean’s Honda City Turbo is looking tidy as ever. Especially sitting next to a seriously untidy Roadster.

Charlie’s CL1 Accord Euro R. Always immaculately kept as i’ve spouted on about many times in this blog. Bwarp meets are going crazy with tri-spokes these days. what’s with that?

Another shot of Tom’s FC RX7 Cabriolet…. i just couldn’t help myself.

Bit of a shot as the sun went down. I don’t usually do landscape…. it’s hard.

After a hearty feed of the Colonels finest fried chicken, we had some more banter and then drove into the night. Here’s Tom’s RX7 sitting at Mobil Kilbirnie after he’s just hemorrhaged money into the Mobil coffers to fill up the drop-top demon.

Happy Birthday Bob Marley.

One Love.

Let’s get Diabeetus

Considering we are all huge burger fans (most of our meets revolve around greasy food) it was no surprise we made the effort to convoy to Carls Junior that had recently been opened in Palmerston North.
If you don’t know what Carls Junior is – I suggest you click THIS LINK and check out the menu….
Or – watch this short video:
So here’s some pics from our epic adventures.
When we arrived, Carls Jr carpark was PACKED. so we took over a local heat pump suppliers car park. Thanks guys!
Usual suspect, Craig came out, and a new face, Max, also came in his Subaru Legacy.
Some classic banter after a hearty feast
We stood here for about an hour watching Palmerston Norths ‘best cars’ roll past. They certainly do like their de-sprung rides
Finally got a photo of Charlies CL1 with his new Advan wheels fitted. Looks heavenly.
A few of us then decided to kill more time in Palmy, so went and cranked some mini golf. Here is Gemma getting super excited about it!
JD lining up the shot
taking the shots
End of the game, Reuben shot a lowest score of the day and has a photo with Skrillex to prove it.
Now the drive back was really nice until we got to Paraparaumu and we encountered this…. a two hour wait due to some roadworks that had been destroyed…. not a great end to the day – but some good banter was had for the 3 hours we spent in the car. <3 my friends.
That’s all for now.
Keep your eyes on the blog for more pics of JD’s AE70 Corolla (now for sale HERE) that James took while hanging out the window of the Accord.
until next time.

Dan’s Kaitoke camping trip

Dan did a write up for the blog after his recently organised camping meet. Here’s the deets and a set of photos from Andrew and Lyle. Enjoy.
The week between Christmas and New Years eve, everyone is glad the family stuff is done for another year and the anticipation of seeing in the new year is high, so what beats going to a camp ground and sleeping in tents for a night or two.
The invitation was open to most people but being “that” time of the year a lot of people were out of town or already had plans but the ones that were local and available made the most of it.
Lyle in his Mitsi, Geoff and myself in our Shuttles met up with Andrew in his Accord, Iain in the infamous white EG Civic and Craig in the GTFO Celica at Craig’s place and convoyed out to Kaitoke.
When we arrived it was raining but that didn’t dampen our spirits and we quickly found a nice sheltered area to set up camp.
During the evening we had Aaron and Max arrive in their Subys, Glen and Kat brought their Civic and Pajero out, Naomi turned up in her Accord and of course we got a visit from Gemma and the rowdy R’s Garage boys that have a tendency to get naked and show off their dangly bits.
As the evening progressed we drank, ate beautiful barbequed food, talked shit and made a sweet fire on the riverbed.
However mother nature had other ideas, she started out with light rain, progressed into heavy rain and then we got an amazing light show in the form of an impressive thunderstorm. We sat under the gazebo drinking and appreciating the entertainment that nature provided.
Come the morning the rain stopped, a few of our crew decided to go home and the rest of us had an amazing breakfast of bacon, hash browns, onions and steak before deciding to stay a second night….that is a story for another time though.
Cheers to everybody who came out you guys made it what it was, I had a blast and can’t wait for the next camping trip.

Road and Track Day 23 December 2012 – Part one!

An awesome day spent today at Manfeild for the Road and Track series. Some epic racing, awesome weather (33 deg celcius…. sup), and an awesome line up of cars.
Here’s some pics of the day.
A very nice blue RX7. Something tells me it wasn’t rotary powered…
This sleeper VZR has a massive turbo and spend most of the day frying front tyres. AWESOME
The excellent 2ZZ powered Corolla was on form all day
Interesting to see a show painted, widebodied, clear tailighted show style civic hitting the track. Laying out some good times too.
Matt ‘dreamboat’ Schwass gave his WRX the sort of treatment it was built for. Also laying out some very impressive times. The kid’s got big balls!
Matt hunting down Craig after the hairpin.
This mental wee turbo Starlet was eating much larger cars all day.
This death trap on wheels made all the right noises and ticked all the right boxes for me. Loved it.
This H22A powered Starlet is one you may remember from the High Octane DVD’s (atleast i assume it’s the same one) and it still hauls serious arse.
GTI vs GTiR.
Aptly named ‘DATO’. Excellent car, and so well presented. Sounded excellent too.
Speaking of cars that sound excellent, this Skyline sounded like it was going to rip a hole in the atmosphere and escape from the planet. You are some kind of next level human if you have the gonads to jump in this car and push the loud pedal all the way down. jeeeesus
Very rapid S13. Nice to see one built for track use rather than drift. A bit different these days.
GT4 vs GT4. ST205 vs ST185. Both are immactulately presented. The red ST185 ended its day a bit early with an unknown issue that meant it wasn’t getting fuel… uh oh.
Here’s a pic of Viv changing tyres on his track hack E30 BMW
He then treated those tyres to some one wheeler peelers round flag point 3. What a show off!
This excellent Dato waiting patiently in the pits
The favourite pink sparkly race car.
Very cool Commodore.
This RX7 must be making some huuuuge numbers because it was getting seriously loose out of the hairpin. Was peeling up some pretty serious race slicks with ease.
Classic CRX race car. I know a few boys who would’ve loved this beast.
Classic EF civic. Always a track day favourite.
Matte Black RS Legacy looking very serious
This thing loved to lift the rear inside wheel. The driver was pushing it to the edge all day. Excellent stuff
This AE86 is amazing.
Parting shot – a pair of MX5’s battling it out. awesome stuff.
This is the end of part one.
The next part will be up shortly.
