While I was at the Taupo track today watching Superlap, Hondacup and various other motorsport series, I spotted this Supra and had to get a closer look take some pics.
The owner was a GC and super friendly and was even a BWARP follower!
The car was seriously track orientated, but still was road registered and warrantable.
Love the aero, especially considering it is still road legal. Big wing, rear diffuser, vented bonnet, big skirts and aftermarket bumper.
The car sounded amazing and it was seriously quick on the track.
Looking fantastic on RPF1’s with full slicks.
Cheers to the owner (sorry i didn’t catch your name) for the chat and letting me grab some snaps.
With a mass of Skylines on the street, to stand out you need to go wild.
Daniel the owner certainly went wild. I’ve seen pics on the net of various front end conversions on Skylines before, but this is an odd one.
When I first saw the car I couldn’t tell what the hell it was at the front. Whatever it was, it looked different. Which is always a good thing.
While the car was being built he nicked parts off his Dad’s VL commodore.
He did all the panel and paint work himself. Which makes it twice as awesome.
BBS wheels set it off.
While the car was parked all day. I’ve heard Daniel likes to give it death.
Cheers for the pics and the chat Daniel. Love your work.
Here’s some recentish pics.
Here’s my girlfriends car, sitting under a street light after eating some fish n chips on the beach.
Here is Tom’s RX7 Cabriolet cruising along the motorway, as shot by Josh Driscoll
Here’s Sunny’s MR2 from dyno day earlier this year.
The end. YAY
Here’s some more pics from our little cruise around town for Bob Marley’s birthday.
Here is Craigs sisters Toyota Starlet ‘carat’ sporting Advan SA3R’s and 3 blokes in the back to try and slam it out for a photo.
No, Craig isn’t pointing and laughing. There’s not much to point and laugh about with this car. It’s pretty serious business.
Iain’s classic EG Civic was out as usual. Iain is an integral member of the Bwarp crew, and a meet wouldn’t be the same without the white slut EG in attendance. Sadly the little Civic ran into some mechanical troubles part way round the bays, so we left it there….
A front on shot of the Carat. interesting combination of vehicle + wheels. It’s certainly not huge in the performance stakes, but with a bit of a drop, it could be a nice wee summer cruiser for a female and her friends. (Sorry Craig, you are far better suited to the GT-Four)
Sean’s Honda City Turbo is looking tidy as ever. Especially sitting next to a seriously untidy Roadster.
Charlie’s CL1 Accord Euro R. Always immaculately kept as i’ve spouted on about many times in this blog. Bwarp meets are going crazy with tri-spokes these days. what’s with that?
Another shot of Tom’s FC RX7 Cabriolet…. i just couldn’t help myself.
Bit of a shot as the sun went down. I don’t usually do landscape…. it’s hard.
After a hearty feed of the Colonels finest fried chicken, we had some more banter and then drove into the night. Here’s Tom’s RX7 sitting at Mobil Kilbirnie after he’s just hemorrhaged money into the Mobil coffers to fill up the drop-top demon.
Happy Birthday Bob Marley.
