Dan’s Kaitoke camping trip

Dan did a write up for the blog after his recently organised camping meet. Here’s the deets and a set of photos from Andrew and Lyle. Enjoy.
The week between Christmas and New Years eve, everyone is glad the family stuff is done for another year and the anticipation of seeing in the new year is high, so what beats going to a camp ground and sleeping in tents for a night or two.
The invitation was open to most people but being “that” time of the year a lot of people were out of town or already had plans but the ones that were local and available made the most of it.
Lyle in his Mitsi, Geoff and myself in our Shuttles met up with Andrew in his Accord, Iain in the infamous white EG Civic and Craig in the GTFO Celica at Craig’s place and convoyed out to Kaitoke.
When we arrived it was raining but that didn’t dampen our spirits and we quickly found a nice sheltered area to set up camp.
During the evening we had Aaron and Max arrive in their Subys, Glen and Kat brought their Civic and Pajero out, Naomi turned up in her Accord and of course we got a visit from Gemma and the rowdy R’s Garage boys that have a tendency to get naked and show off their dangly bits.
As the evening progressed we drank, ate beautiful barbequed food, talked shit and made a sweet fire on the riverbed.
However mother nature had other ideas, she started out with light rain, progressed into heavy rain and then we got an amazing light show in the form of an impressive thunderstorm. We sat under the gazebo drinking and appreciating the entertainment that nature provided.
Come the morning the rain stopped, a few of our crew decided to go home and the rest of us had an amazing breakfast of bacon, hash browns, onions and steak before deciding to stay a second night….that is a story for another time though.
Cheers to everybody who came out you guys made it what it was, I had a blast and can’t wait for the next camping trip.

High Octane at Geoffs

Last Sunday we had a bit of a get together at Geoffs place. The menu consisted of sausage, High Octane and a few brews.

I took a few photos of the day on my phone… forgot the charge the camera battery… clever cookie huh…

High Octane DVD’s and snacks. There are some iconic kiwi cars in these DVD’s. Some of them are timeless and still ‘cool’ by todays standards and some of them probably wouldn’t fly with most car enthusiasts today. Cyber bodykitted Preludes? hmmmm… questionable
Geoff deals some really big tins….. (of garlic bread)
Dan manning the BBQ and teaching the lads how meat should be cooked
Our wonderful host Geoff and special friend, Josh.
A WOMAN AT A BWARP MEET, I GANT BELEAF IT. And what would a Bwarp meet be without one of our favourite friendly skinheads, Craig.
Of course some pics of cars parked in le driveway. Mainly hondas too. wtf right.
An excellent weekend. Big thanks to Geoff for having the boys around. And big up to Dan for being such a fine chef on the BBQ.
mad cnts all round!
PEACE

Looking back through some of the pics, just thinking about what an awesome day it was. So many like minded people all there to chill out in the (partial) sun, eat some sausage, talk cars, life, girls, boys, and watch horny dogs frollick in the field.
Whaka yeah – let’s do this again.
