I attended the 4 & Rotary Nationals in Auckland on the weekend. I didn’t take any photos of the main show hall full of jap cars because everything was too packed together to try and get reasonable shots….. so i went to the lowrider hall to hang out and froth over their high quality, mind blowing cars….
the pics dont do these cars justice. paint so deep i wanted to strip off and swim in it (was a hot day in Auckland too, so a swimming pool would have gone down well). Chrome for dayyyyysssssss. The best wire wheels. big hopping hydro set ups. everything you could ever want in a car basically….
here’s the pics anyway.
Wellington Anniversary Weekend brought us many shenanigans. A section of this shenanigans was held at Kartsport Wellington in Kaitoke at the base of the Rimutaka ranges in the form of Bucket racing!
If you’re not familiar with bucket racing, it’s basically a loose form of motorsport on two wheels. Smash together an old motor in whatever frame you can find, fit some plastic crash knobs, chuck on some protective gear and go racing!
Anyway – i snapped some pics of these a few of these old bikes making noise round the track. check them out.
I was pining for this two-smokin’-strokin’ Honda NS50F all day. Such a rad little machine. Sounds like three angry wasps in a Milo tin.
Motard/Pitbike getting chased
that ‘spansion chamber is getting mighty close to scrape-city
Anything goes! Even old converted trail bikes.
dirtbikes out of their home, battling it out.
An excellent afternoon out. sipping some beverages in the very well priced cafe attached to the track. This is a hidden jem for motorsport fans. I highly recommend you keep an ear to the ground for when these events run and get along for a look. Highly worth it!
Riders – if there’s a pic of you that you want a nice high-res version of, feel free to contact me on the facebook page and i’ll be more than happy to send one your way.
