A bit of a rant

Have you ever posted a picture of your car on a forum or on Facebook and had the first 5 comments being ‘needs more this’ ‘needs more that’ ‘N33Dz mOaR LoW’?

I’m sure I’ve been guilty in the past of saying ‘needs more’. But from this day forward I shall refrain.

Does every EG Civic need orange indicators and the same ‘Mugen style’ front lip?
Does every MX5/Miata need moar low and some 15×8 +0 offset BBS copies?
Does every Celica GT-Four need a giant riser block rear spoiler?
Does every Skyline need Drift-teks and some ‘aDjUstIez’?

Nah – I don’t think they do.

  1. Need more angus.

Honestly, to some extent, comments like that have their place – if someone has obviously tried to achieve ‘something’, but hasn’t quite made it, it can be perfectly appropriate to point out that it hasn’t quite made the cut.

People, for example, posting threads on Stanceworks with 4×4 spec ride height, claiming
‘check out my mad flush stz’ without any hint of irony – thats where those comments are appropriate. And kinda needed.

There’s a nifty quote floating around regarding opinions, and how they’re like penises, but I can’t remember it. I don’t like any penises but mine, and therefore, I will not put dirftekz on my skyline.

    Or something.

  2. Luke, you forgot the classic: Needs moar Rota Grids G. I personally lol in peoples faces when someone gives me the generic lecture that my car needs “moar low”.

As many of you are probably aware, I prefer something that wont age, something thats classic, something thats bread and butter. Following fads (to an extent) drive me nuts.

Be different by all means, but perferably, be subtle about it. At the end of the day, I’d rather have a 100 small little features over one massive feature.

Haha, I always find myself bringing up the same aurgument, but feel its fitting in this instance.

Fully agree with Craig though. Criticism is always welcome, but within reason. Keep up the good work on the updates. Loving the direction that you seem to be going towards (Y)
