Anton’s 1UZ FC RX7

The title pretty much says it all.

That track day that i posted about earlier in the month had this crazy machine show up.

FC RX7 stripped, caged, painted, boned out, stuffed with a 1UZ Toyota 4L V8 between the front wheels.

The 1UZ looks right at home in the bay, and with a simple exhaust, intake and tune it produces some epic hillbilly sideways action.

Last i heard this car may actually be up for sale…. Whoever the new owner becomes, it’s sure to put a smile on their face.

Matt’s 25th Birthday Track Day – Taupo 2014

Matt Carter – in all his kindness – hired out the Taupo race track so him and his mates could come and fang around for free. I was lucky enough to be invited to the shenanigans that not only unfolded at the track on Monday, but also in town on Saturday night. Let’s just say Sean, Dan, Drongo and myself revolutionized Taupo with our sweet wolf shirts, sick (horsey) dance moves and Drongo teaching errrrrrbody how to ‘dougie’.

Luckily there is no photos of us from Saturday night – however there is a few photos from the shenanigans on track as follows.

Our resident race car wizard, Nathan, also coaxed Richard to bring along his Radical SR3 race car. Powered by a Suzuki Hayabusa engine and weighing 4/5ths of fuck all this thing goes seriously hard.

Birthday Boy Matt suits up ready for his passenger seat experience in the Radical. Not sure if he’s nervous here, or just needs to poo.

All strapped in. Hold on tight brother!

You could say the kid looks pretty stoked after that experience.

Shaun’s B18C powered Civic was going haaaaaard for the morning before blowing a clutch to smithereeeeens! Luckily Shaun still managed to nana it the whole way back to Auckland. Top bloke!

It’s a pity pictures don’t really emulate noise that well because the 1UZ powered FC RX7 below made the most incredible sound. More pics of this to come, so keep a tab on the blog.

Most people made it out on the track to give it a go. Alex took his daily LPG powered Falcon wagon out on the track for some hoons and to test the body roll factor.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It was pretty much a Falcon track day, with Dan also throwing his round a few turns and giving it heaps. Was like the Bathurst 1000, but not really.

Jarred was pumped to go in the Eunos Roadster.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

He really started pushing the limits of his tyres and found some opposite lock

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Jarred got a bit greedy on the oppo and ended up in the paddock.

Craig drove all the way from Upper Hutt on the day of the track day, did 10 laps, over heated, then drove all the way back to Upper Hutt in the same day.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It wouldn’t be a track day without something breaking. Alex blew a coolant hose in the Falcon and had to coast the car down to Repco to get some new hose and fit it in the carpark.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

All in all – sick weekend. We need to do this more often, lads.

Oh – and if you’re ever out at the pub in Taupo, and someone tries to teach you how to dance like a horse – just go with it.

BWARP AT THE MOON

So we had another catch up meet on Friday 26 April 2013. It was meant to be a full moon, but there was varying amounts of clouds, and i think the moon itself was actually on the otherside of the world, because we couldnt see it anywhere…. derp. so we moved from our original moon viewing platform to somewhere with a bit of light so we could see the people we were bantering with. Anyway, whilst catching up i snapped a few pics of some of the stuff/people that turned up.

Julian’s Honda Beat.

GTF0 – Craig’s ST205 Celica GT-Four

Geoff’s Shuttle and My Roadster. Bit of a difference in size, and the Shuttle is by no means a big car.

BCHDAZ – Nathan’s VIP Toyota Aristo in the making.

Bwarp Roadster

Tom’s GROUSE RX7 Cabriolet. Currently for sale. Get in touch if you’re interested

Blake’s Hella stanced Suzuki Alto. Such a delightful wee car with buckets of character. Super jelly of this gem.

Eric’s sweet Soarer. He’s got some big kicks lined up for this car.

Pommy’s churbo Mitsi Wagon. Big Blue

Le Shuttle and Roadster again.

Simon’s 1JZ Altezza. The only Altezza worth owning.

Creep shot.

Moar creepin’

It seems the Bwarp Squad has a thing for tiny cars. Sean’s City is particularly tiny, with a peppy turbo heart.

Pie’s are good. and so are RX7’s.

Someone amongst our ranks (IAIN!!!) decided buying a Swedish war wagon was a good idea. I have to say, this Volvo is luuuussshhhhhh.

Blurry banter

Wee beat

Charlie’s CL1 poking it’s nose out

Jamie’s sweeeeete 4AGE powered sleeper Corolla beast. Jamie’s still learning to drive so was bunny hopping everywhere. if you see him out, have some patience as he’s still learning.

Dieter’s perfect EK9. Swear this thing is on a different set of wheels everytime i see it. So deeeeluxxxeee

anyway – if you recognise someone who was there, get them to invite you to the next one, and come hang with us. always keen for new folks to join in!
